What is Friendly Chatter?
Friendly Chatter is a phone-based service offering warm, compassionate conversations with trained listeners. We provide a supportive space for people who want to talk, feel heard, and experience genuine human connection.
Is Friendly Chatter therapy or counseling?
No. Friendly Chatter is not a therapy, counseling, medical, or crisis support service. Our listeners do not provide advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We focus on listening, presence, and human connection.
Who is Friendly Chatter for?
Friendly Chatter is for anyone who wants to talk to a real human and feel heard. People reach out when they’re feeling lonely, overwhelmed, stressed, or simply want meaningful conversation without the formality of therapy.
What happens during a call?
Calls are relaxed and conversational. You can talk about whatever’s on your mind, or simply enjoy a friendly chat. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with, and no expectation to have the “right” words.
Who are the listeners?
Our listeners are carefully selected and trained to listen with care, empathy, and respect. They follow clear boundaries and focus on creating a warm, non-judgmental space for conversation.
Is this service confidential?
Conversations are treated with care and respect. While Friendly Chatter is not a medical or legal service, we value privacy and handle conversations thoughtfully and responsibly.
What if I feel overwhelmed or emotional during a call?
It’s okay to feel however you feel. Our listeners are here to listen and hold space for what you want to share. Friendly Chatter is not equipped to handle emergencies or crisis situations.
What if I’m in crisis or need urgent help?
Friendly Chatter is not a crisis support service. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis support line in your area.
Can I book just one call, or do I have to commit to more?
You can book a one-time call or choose ongoing conversations, depending on what works best for you. There’s no obligation to continue beyond what feels right.
Can I gift a call to someone else?
Yes. You can gift a call to someone you care about for a birthday, anniversary, or simply as a thoughtful gesture. You may include a personal note, and we’ll take care of the rest.
What are Compassionate Check-Ins?
Compassionate Check-Ins are regular, friendly phone calls for people who may be feeling lonely or isolated, or who could benefit from ongoing human connection. They’re often chosen by family members or loved ones who want someone checked in on regularly.
How long are the calls?
Call lengths vary depending on the option you choose. Details about call duration and pricing are available on our Pricing page.
