These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, services, and content (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using Friendly Chatter, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Who We Are
Friendly Chatter provides non-clinical, phone-based listening and conversation services. Our listeners offer presence and conversation but do not provide therapy, counseling, medical advice, or crisis intervention. Friendly Chatter is not a substitute for professional mental health care, and our listeners are not licensed mental health professionals.

Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use our services. By using Friendly Chatter, you confirm that:

• You are legally able to enter into these Terms
• The information you provide is accurate and current
• You will use the Service in compliance with applicable laws

Use of the Service
When using Friendly Chatter, you agree to:

• Treat others with respect and kindness
• Refrain from abusive, discriminatory, or threatening behavior
• Not impersonate others or provide false information
• Not use the Service for illegal or harmful purposes
• Not promote commercial products or services

Not a Crisis or Medical Service
Friendly Chatter does not provide crisis support, medical advice, or therapeutic treatment. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or are in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services or a licensed professional.

User Content
You are responsible for the information you choose to share during conversations. You agree not to share content that is unlawful, harmful, or abusive. Any feedback or communications you provide to Friendly Chatter may be used only as necessary to operate and improve our services. We do not sell personal data.

Privacy
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. If required by law, we may disclose information to authorities.

Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service if we believe these Terms have been violated or the Service has been misused.

Limitation of Liability
Friendly Chatter is provided on an “as-is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Friendly Chatter and its affiliates are not liable for any direct or indirect losses, emotional distress, or damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on conversations.
You acknowledge that you are solely responsible for any decisions or actions you take as a result of using Friendly Chatter.

Payments & Refunds
All services must be paid in full at the time of booking. Prices are listed in CAD and may include applicable taxes. Payment secures your scheduled time. You may cancel and receive a full refund if you notify us at least 24 hours before your scheduled call. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, missed appointments, or partial sessions are non-refundable.

Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Love & Chatter — Terms of Service

Love & Chatter is a matchmaking and introduction service operated by Friendly Chatter Inc. We help consenting adults explore potential romantic connections based on their stated preferences and information provided during registration.

Our services include a free Singles Pool and paid Active Matchmaking.

Love & Chatter is not a dating agency that supervises relationships, a background investigation service, a counselling service or a guarantee of romantic compatibility.

Eligibility and Member Responsibilities

Participants must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be legally and genuinely available to pursue a romantic relationship.
• Provide accurate and truthful information.
• Respect the privacy, boundaries and decisions of other participants.
• Refrain from harassment, threats, intimidation, fraud, impersonation, stalking or abusive behaviour.
• Obtain permission before sharing another participant’s personal information with third parties.

Participants must notify Love & Chatter of material changes to their relationship availability or other information relevant to matchmaking.

Singles Pool

Registration in the Singles Pool is free and allows Love & Chatter to consider a participant for potential introductions.

Joining the Singles Pool does not guarantee that a match will be identified, that an introduction will occur or that a participant will be contacted within a particular period.

Active Matchmaking

Active Matchmaking provides a personalized search for potential matches over a period of 30 calendar days.The search period begins on the date confirmed by Love & Chatter.

Payment covers the agreed search service and does not guarantee a minimum number of matches, introductions, dates or successful relationships.

Service fees, cancellation rights and refunds are governed by the applicable service agreement and Refund Policy, subject to applicable law.

Identity Verification and Information Accuracy

Love & Chatter may conduct identity, age or eligibility checks before facilitating introductions.

Unless expressly confirmed, participants should not assume that another member’s identity, age, relationship status, employment, finances, criminal history or personal background has been independently verified.

Where verification is conducted, it does not constitute a guarantee of character, honesty, safety or compatibility.

Love & Chatter may decline or suspend introductions where required verification has not been completed or credible concerns arise.

Consent to Introductions

Love & Chatter seeks the consent of both participants before facilitating a direct introduction.

Participants may decline a proposed introduction without being required to explain their decision. Contact information, identifiable photographs and other personal details will be shared only in accordance with applicable consent and privacy requirements.

Independent Conduct and Personal Responsibility

Love & Chatter facilitates introductions but does not control, direct, supervise or monitor participants’ private conversations, meetings, activities or relationships.

Each participant is responsible for their own conduct, decisions and interactions.

Participants acknowledge that meeting or communicating with someone new carries inherent risks, including dishonesty, misrepresentation, harassment, fraud, emotional distress and abusive or threatening behaviour.

Participants are encouraged to exercise independent judgment and take appropriate personal safety precautions.

Abusive Behaviour and Misconduct

Love & Chatter does not tolerate harassment, threats, coercion, stalking, fraud, violence, discrimination or other abusive or unlawful conduct.

We may investigate reported concerns and take reasonable measures, including restricting introductions, suspending participation or removing individuals from the service.

We may refer serious matters to appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Friendly Chatter Inc., its directors, officers, employees and authorized representatives shall not be liable for losses, injuries or damages arising solely from the independent actions or omissions of participants during private interactions outside the company’s control, where such losses, injuries or damages are not caused or contributed to by any breach of duty, negligence, misrepresentation or other legally actionable conduct of Friendly Chatter Inc.

Love & Chatter does not guarantee that participants will behave honestly, respectfully, safely or lawfully.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or restricts any rights or remedies available under applicable consumer protection or other legislation.

Service Fees

Active Matchmaking is a paid service providing a personalized search for potential matches during a confirmed 30-calendar-day period.

The applicable price, service description and start date will be communicated to the client.

Search Results

Payment is for the agreed matchmaking search service, not a guaranteed introduction, date or relationship.

The absence of a compatible match or successful introduction does not, by itself, create an entitlement to a refund.

Cancellation and Refund Requests

Clients may request cancellation by contacting Friendly Chatter Inc. Refund eligibility will be assessed based on the applicable service agreement, services performed and any mandatory rights under consumer protection legislation.

Service Extensions

Where offered, clients may purchase an additional matchmaking search period. Each extension is subject to the price, duration and terms communicated at the time of purchase.

Statutory Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits cancellation, refund or other consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable legislation.

Reporting Concerns

Participants may report suspected fraud, harassment, threats, abuse, privacy violations or other serious misconduct through our designated contact channels.

We will assess reports and determine appropriate action based on the circumstances, available information and applicable law.

Participants experiencing immediate danger should contact emergency services or law enforcement.

Suspension or Termination

Love & Chatter may suspend or terminate participation for material breaches of these Terms, credible safety concerns, fraudulent conduct or misuse of the service.

Any refund rights arising from suspension or termination will be determined in accordance with applicable law and the relevant service agreement.

Changes to the Service

Love & Chatter may update its service procedures and participation terms from time to time.

Material changes will be communicated as required by law. Changes will not retroactively override existing contractual rights without an appropriate legal basis.
